What is the Kick-A-Thon?
The Kick-A-Thon is San Gabriel PTA's main fundraiser and raised over $30,000 last year. Our goal is to raise $25,000 this year to support all of PTA's programs for San Gabriel Elementary School in Atascadero, CA. This annual fundraiser remains the primary reason that our students are able to participate in the following:
• Educational Field Trips (California Missions, PAC performances, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Local Museums, Botanical Gardens and the Cal Poly Dairy)
• School Assemblies (Celtic Spring, Kyle's Cartoon Platoon, Hands on Science Exhibits, and the AHS Show Choir)
• Scientist in Residence, Artist in Residence, Reading Incentive & School Garden Programs
Without funds from the Kick-A-Thon, our students would not have these educational opportunities in the arts, sciences, math and reading.
The Kick-A-Thon runs from March thru April. It all starts with the Kick-Off Assembly scheduled for Tuesday, March 21st. Each class will be assigned a kicking day either on Wednesday, March 29th or Thursday, March 30th. Each student will kick a soccer ball and their speed will be recorded. Students then ask their family, friends, and neighbors to sponsor them with a donation. Donation amounts can be a flat donation, a rate based on the student's kicking speed (i.e. $1 per mph), or a combination of both. Donations may be made online, by cash, or by check to San Gabriel PTA. All donations are tax deductible and receipts are available in the school office or online. There are a lot of prizes and incentives for students who participate and fundraise. The deadline to submit all Kick-A-Thon donations for all contests and prizes is April 11, 2018 at 3 pm.
